SPONSORSHIP OFFERINGS DETAILS

Volunteer Appreciation items are a great way to show our volunteers that we appreciate their time and efforts for making the festival happen! We ask that any promotional item provided follow our Sponsorship Promo Guideline below.

The Sky Lounge is our premier area at the Festival at the Forks located on the top deck of parkade overlooking the festival grounds. The Hospitality Package contains a bracelet to give you priority access to the Sky Lounge through a separate entrance way and two complimentary drink tickets.

Logo on publications includes: website, select banners, “Thank You Sponsors Page” in Pride Guide, and end-of- year reports.

Free Pride Guide advertising breakdown:

  • DIAMOND & MEDIA: Full page (+$500 and get an ad on the inside back or front cover) – (Limited space)
  • PLATINUM: Half page ad.
  • GOLD: Third page ad.
  • SILVER: Quarter page ad.
  • BRONZE: Sixth page ad.

The Community Feature will consist of an article highlighting your companies/organizations involvement with the LGBTTQ* community. This article will be placed in our eNewsletter and on our website (with promotions on our social media).

Free exhibitor booth consists of a 10×10 area at The  Festival at the Forks. Booth includes tables, chair and tent. (Limited space)

Free festival advertising consists of either a still image or 30 second clip played on the jumbo screens at the Festival at the Forks.

Speaking opportunities will be negotiated.

IN-KIND DONATIONS: All in-kind product and service donations will be valued at 100% cash value.

VOLUNTEER HOURS: Support us by providing volunteers! We will value every hour of volunteer service at a $20 cash value.

SPONSORSHIP PROMO GUIDELINES

Promotional giveaways and swag are part of many events, and Pride is no exception. However, giveaways are too often used once and then trashed. With 10,000s of attendees each year at our festival, this is not sustainable.

We at Pride Winnipeg are challenging sponsors, community partners, and parade participants to align with The Forks Target Zero goal and adopt a new approach to giveaways. We want to create lasting memories, not garbage!

We ask that you:
– Recognize The Forks’ Zero Interception requirement for events by distributing promotional materials only when a visitor approaches to ask for more information.
– Ensure that giveaways are practical, durable, reusable, and desirable as souvenirs.
– Design for sustainability: offer giveaways made from sustainable or recycled materials that can easily be re-purposed or recycled at the end of their life cycles.
– Eliminate or minimize packaging.
– When necessary, packaging should be reusable, recycled, or recyclable, with this clearly indicated.
– Avoid date marking items or branding items in such a way that affects their reuse.

– Condoms (allowed if included in a safe sex kit)

WHY SHOULD MY BUSINESS SUPPORT PRIDE?

Your business/organization will have the opportunity to be visible and exposed to 10,000s of people on Pride Day. Your business/organization will be able to promote its products and/or services while employees have fun and interact directly with members of the public.

HOW BIG IS THE LGBTTQ* MARKET?

The LGBTTQ* market is bigger than any ethnic market in Canada and is roughly the same size as the youth market. Additionally the LGBTTQ* market is projected to grow rapidly as more consumers feel comfortable to self-identify.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SUPPORTING PRIDE?

When you support us, we support you. Pride stands for many different things to many different people. When you sponsor Pride you are not only taking advantage of a great marketing opportunity, you are also letting the community know that you support the positive social change that Pride represents.

HOW MANY PEOPLE IDENTIFY AS LGBTTQ*?

5% openly identified as LGBTTQ* in Manitoba/Saskatchewan. As well 10% of those aged 18-32 will openly identify LGBTTQ* in Canada, which indicates that people are feeling more comfortable identifying with every passing generation as only 2% of those aged 65+ self-identify as LGBTTQ*

HOW WILL MY SUPPORT AFFECT MY EMPLOYEES?

People perform better when they can be themselves. Concealing one’s sexual orientation at work reduces productivity. Employees need to be able to communicate and build supportive, cooperative relationships with colleagues, clients and service users. Additionally 50% of LGBTTQ* employees would feel more committed and loyal to employers who introduce LGBTTQ* diversity policies and programs.
