Major changes and big announcements in the works for Pride 2010

Pride Week in 2010 will be virtually unrecognizable as many major changes are afoot. This year marks the move of Pride festivities to The Forks, the much-beloved meeting place for Winnipeggers and tourists alike.

Winnipeg Pride is ecstatic to make its new home next door to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, currently under construction and expected to open its doors in 2012. The museum is committed to including the GLBTTQ* community, and being neighbours is a natural fit.

Festival Park and Scotiabank Stage have hosted a number of landmark events – including the War Child concert in 2000 featuring the Tragically Hip – so we have big shoes to fill. To that end, we are doing our best to bring you some top-notch entertainment.

Also new this year is a different parade route from the rally at the legislature to The Forks, as well as a beer tent at Festival Park that will help keep you cool on what is sure to be one of the hottest days of the year – June 6, 2010! Keep checking this website for more details as they become available.
