Festival Performers
Kate Reid

Kate Reid

Headlining this year is KATE RIED. Kate is a whip-smart wordsmith with a knack for candid story-telling and songwriting charged with humour and social-political commentary. A straight shooter but definitely not straight, she is as charming as she is in-your-face and is one of the most original, incisive, and entertaining songwriters to appear on the scene in a long time.

Jeff Straker

If you put a little Elton John, and a little Rufus Wainwright in a blender, tossed in a dash of Freddie Mercury & Ben Folds – then hit puree – you’d get JEFFREY STRAKER. This Canadian singer-songwriter-pianist takes inspiration from pop-rock, folk, & cabaret leanings and blends in his distinct tenor voice. This is performance not to be missed.

Süss Trio

Süss Trio

Süss sometimes rides the piano gently and surely, sometimes raucous and hard. Süss brings her brand of cabaret eclectica together with Winnipeg’s best rhythm section, Gilles Fournier on bass and Daniel Roy on drums to make the SÜSS TRIO.

Welcome to Reykjavik

www.myspace.com/welcometoreykjavik

WELCOME TO REYKJAVIK stands true to the basics, drawing influences from simple small town life, to create an easy-going feel to their music. With hard messages, hidden meanings and simple chords, they always emerge with a song that makes the listener reflect on their own life and experiences.

Techpara Winnipeg
